Larimar is a rare blue variety of pectolite, known for its ocean-like shades ranging from light sky blue to deeper blue with white marbling. In its rough form, it appears as irregular chunks with natural surfaces and soft color patterns.
Composed of sodium calcium silicate, it has a hardness of 4.5–5 on the Mohs scale, making it suitable for cutting, polishing, and decorative use. Larimar is found exclusively in the Dominican Republic.
