Specimens from Madagascar are prized for their delicate coloration, fine texture, and attractive natural patterns.
Composed of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), chalcedony has a hardness of 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale, making it durable for mineral collections, lapidary work, carvings, and decorative displays.
