Product Description:
This authentic fossil shark tooth comes from the extinct species Otodus obliquus, a powerful predator that lived between 40–60 million years ago during the Paleocene to Eocene epochs. These sharks were early relatives of modern mackerel sharks and ancestors of the famous megatooth lineage that would eventually lead to Megalodon.
Sourced from the phosphate-rich deposits of Khouribga, Morocco, this specimen showcases the species’ iconic features:
-
A broad, triangular crown with smooth to slightly serrated cutting edges
-
Strong root lobes that anchored the tooth firmly
-
A natural earthy coloration, formed through millions of years of mineralization
