Product Description:

Stilbite is a soft, pearly mineral known for its beautiful crystal clusters and is a popular specimen among mineral collectors. It belongs to the zeolite group of minerals and is commonly found in basalt rock cavities.

Geological Information
In Jalgaon, Maharashtra, stilbite is found in deccan basalt formations, which were formed by ancient volcanic activity. As molten lava cooled and solidified, gas bubbles and cavities were left behind. Over time, these spaces were filled with mineral-rich fluids, allowing stilbite and other zeolites to crystallize inside.

Jalgaon is internationally recognized as one of the finest sources of high-quality stilbite, often producing well-formed, translucent to pearly crystals.

Key Features of Stilbite
Color: Usually white, cream, peach, pink, or pale yellow

Crystal Habit: Fan-like or sheaf-shaped clusters, often in radiating formations

Hardness: About 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale

Luster: Pearly to vitreous (glassy)

Associated Minerals: Often found with apophyllite, heulandite, and other zeolites

Formation
Stilbite forms in voids within volcanic rocks, especially in vesicles (gas pockets) of basalt. These voids slowly fill with mineral-rich water, allowing stilbite crystals to grow over time. The conditions in Jalgaon-especially its basalt-rich geology-make it ideal for the natural formation of zeolite minerals like stilbite.

Uses
Mineral Collections: Highly valued by collectors for its attractive crystal forms and soft colors

Decorative Use: Sometimes used in home décor or as display pieces

Educational Use: Used in geology and mineralogy teaching collections
